With the Pier Pavillion closing, most of the sports facilities contained therein have been moved to a new purpose built sports centre at Herne Bay High (and some facilities to an extension to the Herons leisure centre)

The official opening of both venues is tomorrow (Friday 9th September 2011) and is to be carried out by our very own Dan Ritchie, a former Herne Bay High pupil.

Invitation is by ticket only (Boo to the city council) but the BBC will be there to do interviews so watch the evening news.

With this year's International season over, Dan is free to compete for Herne Bay again - only one race left - the south coast champs - who else will be in the crew ??  Watch this space.
