Herne Bay Rowing Club travelled to Eastbourne on saturday.

With the sun shining and the water flat the day got off to a great start with the J16 girls, Lauren Geeves, Sophie Thayre, Danielle Geeves and Lydia Potterton winning thier race.

The boys J16 followed with a third place. In the Veterans 50 's race the crew of Harry Roberts, Tony Mills, Paul iddenden and Trevor Brown continued thier consistant form of this year with an exellent row to another convincing win.

The junior pair of Luke Towner and Leyton Potterton had a great race to finish in a very close third place.

Herne Bay had two novice crews on the water. During the race the lead changed several times between the two crews and a boat from Eastbourne. It ended with a really exiting race for the line with the crew of Adam Taylor, Joe wareham, James Dawkins and Lucas Potterton finishing in second place and the other crew from Herne Bay of Camerom Foreman. Rob Blake , George Holness and Lewis Potterton finishing just behind by a few inches in third place.

Well done to both of these young crews. The rowers are of to Shoreham next Sunday for the pen-ultimate regatta of this season
